Bare.ID supports the official German government identity providers BundID, ELSTER Unternehmenskonto and BayernID, and provides ready-made integration templates for them in the IDP gallery.

This article explains who these identity providers are available to, which requirements apply, and how to set up the BundID connection.

Availability and requirements

Access to BundID, ELSTER Unternehmenskonto and BayernID is currently granted only to public authorities and government institutions. An opening-up for example, of BundID to the private sector—is planned, but has not yet been implemented.

Using these identity providers is a feature that must be enabled individually for your contract. If you hold the relevant authorization, you can request activation easily through our support channels.

Details: Setting up BundID

Bare.ID is registered as an institution in the BundID Self-Service Portal (SSP). Through it, you link Bare.ID to your organization and invite our team as technical contacts for your projects.

Here’s how to proceed:

1. Create the link in the SSP: Link Bare.ID to your organization in the BundID Self-Service Portal.
2. Share the contract identifier in the support ticket: In your support ticket, share the contract identifier of the project from the BundID SSP. We will then configure it on your cluster. Once we have received the contract identifier and the configuration is complete, the BundID connection will be available for test to you. We also will name a technical contact person.
3. Invite Bare.ID as a technical contact: In the SSP, invite the named technical contact for your projects, enabling us to support your configuration.
